SMC AUtofest 2022

We had the chance to check out the Sierra Madre Collection open house event for Litweek 2022.

FIRST STOP: LUCKY BOY PASADENA

It was an early Thursday morning, the pre-meet was at the legendary Lucky Boy in Pasadena, and I was one of the first to arrive. As soon as you pull into the lot you already feel the excitement building as you hear the air-cooled motors roaring as the cars started rolling in. Seeing the vast amount of diversity in the way each car was built, was an incredible sight. There were concourse type builds such as the silver 1972 911E, 964s equipped with Recaro Pole Position seats, even a 964 on a set of Volk Racing TE37 wheels, theres nothing like a German sports car on some Japanese racing wheel. One of the cars that immediately cought my attention however was the Nardo Grey painted 964 on BBS Motorsport E88 Wheels. It was equipped with a matching pair of Recaro seats, leather wrapped roll cage, and the perfect marriage of performance and show. Once everyone rolled in and got some coffee and breakfast burritos we started heading out to the main event.

THE EVENT: SIERRA MADRE COLLECTION: AUTOFEST 2022

When we were all pulling up to the venue we were greeted by the wonderful staff over at SMC handing us lanyards and goodies while they directed us on where to park. Immediately you can see the line of Porsches forming up the entire street. There was an abundance of P-Cars ranging from full on race built 911 RSRs, 356 hardtops and spyders, early F-body long nose 911, late 70s and 80s G-body Carreras, 964s, 993s, 996s, 997s, boxters, and even a couple cayenne SUVs. The event provided free coffee and beer from Eagle Rock Brewing, as well as a couple food trucks. SMC held a giant yardsale selling all the refurbished and scratch and dent items. There were a few other venders at the event as well like Silverlake Projects from LA and CarBone Liveries from Poland showcasing all of their beautifully crafted products and accessories. One of the main things I immediately noticed as I was walking around and networking, was that everyone was welcoming and friendly, It didn’t matter if you came in a 992 GT3 RS or a 1985 944, everyone was respectful to each other and showed love to the community. As Riaction USA continues to grow and add more Porsche applications to our line up we can’t wait to attend more events like this in the future.
